AN INTELLIGENT BLEND OF STYLE, FORM
AND FUNCTION

Noisy imagery, exuberance, and human nature provide the anchor for my work. Drawing from ancient history, female identity, and urban
street culture, I create mixed-media pieces full of energy and layered meaning.
I am a young artist interested in narrative and how stories from ancient mythologies can be used to ‘teach’, offering people a template for how to simply be good global citizens. These lessons are often taught through spectacular individuals in extraordinary situations, which are far more engaging than the average, everyday report.

Artists must let go of the need to be universally liked, an impossible goal in such an interesting and diverse world. Given the highly subjective nature of the industry, you never truly know what someone might find appealing in your work.

Recognising your strengths is key. I am aware that the creative world is full of rejection, which can be easy to take personally. Success is a progressive journey; it requires us to set meaningful goals and strive to achieve them. This is something bespoke and specific to a person’s desires, leading to the realisation of a worthy ideal.

Others not liking your work is not a disaster. Everyone brings different perspectives, shaped by varied starting points. Whether that be age, upbringing, personal experiences or past exposure. Confident self-presentation plays a significant role in success, and one thing I have learnt is that you must keep putting yourself out there. You never know when or with whom your work will resonate.

Design is not just about creating an identity and brand aesthetic, it can and should be much more than that. An intelligent blend of style, form and function - something that evolves and adapts with the times. A rich form of storytelling, following a narrative not unlike how myths and legends morph over time.
